I am a researcher at the Mathematical Institute of the Romanian Academy (Institutul de Matematică Simion Stoilow al Academiei Române), in the Differential Geometry and Algebraic Topology group.

From October 2016 to September 2019 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn), in the research group of Carl-Friedrich Bödigheimer.

From October 2015 to September 2016 I was in the Algebraic Topology group of Lionel Schwartz in the Laboratoire Analyse, Géométrie et Applications at Université Paris 13.

From April 2013 to September 2015 I was a postdoc at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, in the research group of Michael Weiss.

Before that (until March 2013) I was a PhD student in the Topology group at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Ulrike Tillmann.

My research interests are in algebraic, differential and geometric topology, including:

  • different kinds of configuration spaces,
  • moduli spaces of submanifolds,
  • diffeomorphism groups of manifolds (possibly with singularities),
  • the phenomenon of homological stability,
  • polynomial functors,
  • representations of surface braid groups and (more generally) motion groups,
  • group-completion of topological monoids,
  • multi-crossing numbers of links in S3.

Here (pdf) is a summary of my previous work (last updated January 2020), and here (pdf) is a poster from February 2018.
